On the Quebec side of the Ottawa River:
“Des Swisha”, the  Village of Rapides-des-Joachims is in Pontiac County’s  Aberdeen Township.
The Village occupies a five mile long island in the Ottawa River,  midway between Pembroke and Mattawa.
The mountain side opposite the waterfront hosts one of Canada’s rare eagle preserves.

It is featured on the Canadian $20 bill. This is a plaster mold used to create the original.
